Bee venom is rich in mellitin which, while still not fully understood, is believed to stimulate our bodies to produce Cortisol - nature’s own anti-inflammatory. Cortisol automatically acts on inflammation. This can aid movement of painful joints and muscles. There is some evidence that bee venom can also cause blood vessels to dilate or enlarge, thus facilitating improved blood flow to affected limbs and organs.
